It is unthinkable that incredibly all the Michelangelos, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Brunelleschi found themselves by chance in Florence around : the truth is that simply that was the right city at the right time, with enlightened rulers, economic, artistic and social conditions perfect at least for art. Certainly, potentially good artists like them were born in Ghana, Mexico, Nepal or who knows where, but in those places there were not the basic conditions, the humus that instead existed in Florence with the Medici. The same thing happens now for IT and the web: in Italy there is a lot of bureaucracy and exaggerated taxes; chambers of commerce, accountants, notaries, lawyers don't even know what a site or a blog is or how to frame it: anyone who wants to carry out a web photo editor project today in Italy finds himself like a Michelangelo born in in Kathmandu. This doesn't mean he won't be able to make a living, or even live decently, but he certainly won't be able to create Facebook or Microsoft or Groupon. If you invest all the time you have therefore much more than an employed job, a lot of money to be the best in your sector, on a good idea and putting in your maximum effort, perhaps you will be able to earn something. I know it's not a motivational speech, in fact I don't want to make people believe that everyone can do anything by investing nothing: instead I believe that few can do it by investing the maximum, which seems to me to be a more serious and realistic message than what many "salesmen" peddle.
